As it turns out, Pilates is not a class you take when you want to learn to be pilot. Instead, it’s where you go to have some odd greek woman stand at the front of the room, and describe (badly) a series of strange exercises that you need to do to “improve your core strength”. Having never heard of “core strength” before, I was unsurprised to hear a lot of other terms I had never come across, like “Hip flexors” and “natural spine”.
But, truth be known, I quite enjoyed the Pilates class. It’s a huge work out to the lower back and hip region, which hopefully will be helpful for riding and general posture. And to top things off, the instructor reminded me of Lucy Vorka (for those of you that know her)… only about 3 times the size
