New coffee

Yesterday, Bender and I finished the last of the coffee’s from around the world, that was kindly given to my by The Durhams. Boy, do they know their coffee! 3 of the finest blends that I have ever encountered. My favourite was the French blend – even though the grind was a bit large, its flavour was fantastic.

Anyway, this morning saw the opening of the tin of illy! I figured that “The Durham Blends” would be a hard act to follow, but illy had been given lots of hype from several high-ranking coffee gurus:

  • Craig – New York provider of illy
  • Suz & Al – Coffee connoisseurs from way back
  • David & Nelly – Responsible for my coffee addiction

Suffice to say that illy did not disappoint. In fact, I was very, very impressed. A very smooth, rich flavour, and not at all bitter. The grind is perfect for my espresso machine, too. Bender was equally impressed with illy. All reviewers give it a double thumbs-up! If anyone else out there has coffee of such high quality that they want me to sample, just let me know and I’ll give you my postal details :-D
