So, what happened to Boondall?

16 John's Crescent, Boondall

A lot of people have enquired about the outcome of the house-hunting expedition that Kristy and I undertook some months ago. No doubt, many of you would remember the Boondall property that we were so keen on. Well, after Kristy and I had looked at it twice, we asked the Real Estate Agent, Wayne, to come back and give our house the once-over. We were pleased with the estimated sales figures he reported to us, so we took the rest of the weekend to think over our options.

The only way we could have afforded to put a contract on the house would have been if the contract was subject to sale of our existing place. So on Monday, we got in touch with Wayne and told him this; but unfortunately for us, someone beat us to the crunch, and had done the exact same thing on Saturday. And, the people selling the house had accepted the offer. So from there, the only way for us to get a contract, would have been to offer one unconditionally – but if our place didn’t sell, then we would have been stuck with 2 mortgages. And I have no doubt that would have been rather expensive. So, much to our dismay, we decided to let it go.

However, it is now 2 months later, and I notice that the house is still on the market! What’s more, it has come down by $20,000. How intriguing… !
