Happy Birthday Amy!

August must be a cool time to be born, because a lot of my friends celebrate their birthdays this month. Today, it is Amy’s 7th birthday!

I first met Amy (aka “Little”) when she was only 2 years old, and of course, that seems like it was only yesterday. Amy is such a happy young thing, and she always has the funniest things to say. For example, her dad tells a great story where after dinner one evening, he and Nelly had been engaged in a rather deep theological discussion with their oldest child, Laura. Amy listened intently until the conversation was over, whereby she added her thoughts. “Pigs wake me up at night”.

I am laughing even as I type this now, just thinking about the expression on David’s face as he recounted the story. Amy has had countless other classic quotes (“look – a horsie!”) – far too many to list here. Suffice to say that she has made us laugh many, many times. So Amy – I hope you had a totally awesome 7th birthday!
