Something’s Gotta Give

Kristy and I got out Something’s Gotta Give at Blockbuster’s $2 Tuesday. I didn’t know much about the film going into it, other than Lou and Steve had seen it, and rated it as “ok”.

Turns out they did a bang-up job with said rating. Basic story line? Jack Nicholson plays a playboy whose tastes change after suffering a heart attack, and he finds himself falling in love with a woman older than his usual tastes – Diane Keaton. It’s pretty simple, and easy to follow. The film is not without it’s moments, but quite a few of the scenes were overdone, and cumulatively this gave it a very long, dragging effect. I think had they have cut it down from two hours to about one-and-a-half, it would have been much more enjoyable. It’s the type of movie that you walk away from feeling rather unaffected. gerrod.com rating: 6/10.

This may go down in the record books, but I’m going to rate a chick flick more harshly than you.

By the end of it I was groaning in disbelief saying, "Is it still going?" While it was harmless enough it lacked punch, was a bit predictable, and bared far too much of Jack Nicholson’s flesh for my liking.

I give it 4/10.

Man, I’m with Kristy this movie bited the big one.Keanue Reeves acting performance has to go down as worse than usual – I know – hard to believe he could be worse than usual.

I parted with $13.50 for the pleasure of seeing this piece of crap at BCC Garden City. It was terrible. It seems much, much, much longer than 2 hours. I am with Bender, Reeves acting was terrible. On the rating I am with Kristy 4/10.

I personally didn’t think it was that bad, if you didn’t walk in expecting too much from Hollywood dinosaurs like Keaton and Nicholson. Agree with the Keanu comments, I was surprised to see him in this sort of movie. But in my opinion it supplied enough laughs to warrant higher that KJ’s score. 6.5/10 for me.

Sounds Like I’m the winner here, not only have I not seen it, I haven’t even heard of it. Yay for me!
