Thigh Try Master

To say that we were a “few players short” for our game of touch footy last night would be insulting to short things everywhere. Ideally, you need 7 players to take the field, and 1 (preferrably 2) more for subs. Last night, our numbers could be counted on a single hand. None-the-less, the 5 of us gamely took the field. Our opposition was only a single rung above us on the premiership ladder, so if we had any chance of winning, this was probably the right team to be playing.

With all of our energy behind us for the first half, we managed to get ourselves off to a good start. Usually, there is one person who carries the rest of the team – and last night, that was me, clocking up 2 tries in the 20 minutes, and bringing my season total to 2. (As you can guess, it’s not usually me that carries the team). We went into the half-time break with the scores locked at 2 all. Unfortunately though, our lack of energy proved fatal in the second half, in which we were smashed. Though we scored another try through Chris’ valient run, we let through at least 4 against us. No-one asked for the final score.

Hopefully we’ll be back to a full team next week for our final game.
