Things that annoy me most

Feeling annoyed at the world at the moment, so just have to get these off my chest.

  1. Bad drivers. Like the people who merge by stopping and putting their indicator on. Or people that forget that the right lane is the fast lane, and sit there 10km/h under the speed limit.
  2. People who can’t (or just don’t) think for themselves. Especially at work, when their attitude seems to be, “sure, I could work this out for myself, but it’s easier if I just ask you”. I call the condition of being annoyed by such people, “Dr Evil Syndrome”.
  3. Meetings. The ratio of useful:useless meetings that I go to would have to be about 1:10. (This is actually an old complaint; my new job is good with meetings, we only have them when we really need them. But still, I’m dragged in kicking and screaming…)
  4. Egotism. A little bit of self-boasting goes a long way when it’s done humerously. But some people are too wrapped up in themselves to notice that there’s a whole other world out there. Typically, this manifests itself in people that “engage” you in a conversation, but fail to notice that you lost interest about 3 seconds after they opened their mouth.
  5. Lies. Not little ones so much, but the big ones. The ones where you feel really let down after you discover the truth. People that break your trust should be off your list. Without trust, you’ve got nothing.

Ahhhhh… feeling better already. I’m sure you know what I mean!

Things that annoy me :-

  1. Businesses that preach about their “excellent” customer service but fail to deliver on it. A fine example is iiNet, who have consistently failed me with setting up my broadband internet connection.
  2. Having to micro-track my time at work. I hate having to say I spent 17 minutes talking to my boss about this new piece of functionality that we’ll never deliver. I work my 7-8 hours a day. That should be good enough.
  3. Having to decide what to eat for lunch every day.

I know I shouldn’t really gripe about any of these things. I’m so lucky to have the privelige of enjoying life, but thought I would add my 2 cents.

PS: Has anyone else noticed that Gerrod has added linebreaks to his comments. Woohoo!! Way to go Gerry.
