Supergrass

Keeping in the “Concert Month” theme, I headed out to see Supergrass last night with Suz, Al, and Pat. Not knowing a lot of their music, I wasn’t confident that I was the biggest fan there; however after seeing them at Splendour in the Grass a couple of years ago, and being super impressed with their set, I knew I’d be in for a good night.

And, thankfully, the Supergrass boys didn’t disappoint. They played a huge set of lots of favourites, with the highlight (for me, anyway) being an acoustic version of Caught by the Fuzz. The band was one of the tightest that I’ve ever heard play; as such, there wasn’t a single bad part throughout the show. I’d have to say that Supergrass is so far my Concert of the Year. Also, like Blink 182 on Friday night, they commented on how much better the Brisbane crowd is compared to the Melbourne crowd. 2 bands out of 2 – that makes it official!

The only drawbacks to the show were that I forgot my earplugs (and was standing right near the speaker, d’oh!), and that the show started quite late (10:30pm) which made it a very late night. gerrod.com rating: 9/10.
