Yesterday was a day for celebration. Not only was it Kristy’s birthday, but Matt & Lauren decided that it would be the perfect day for a wedding. And a perfect day it was!

The ceremony was held at Albert Street Uniting Church, one of the most beautiful and well known churches in Brisbane. Lauren was extremely punctual (in fact she got there before we did, and was waiting out the back). After the obligatory family shots, the bride and groom took off for an extensive photo session. To kill time, Kristy and I went and saw Dodgeball (which we thought was hilarious!).

The Carlton Crest was the venue for the reception – a convenient hop, skip, and a jump away from the church. This was the first wedding I have been to since Kristy and I got engaged, so I noticed a lot of extra details that otherwise would have escaped me – the pianist playing through dinner, the fairy-lights, table centre pieces, etc. Totally classy! Matt and Lauren have absolutely wonderful taste. The food was exquisite, service was fantastic, best man adorable, and the drinks were plentiful. I just hope that we can live up to their standard!
