Wimbledon goes to a tie-breaker

Here it is, the promised and eagerly awaited Wimbledon review. Rather than lengthy commentary, here are a few quick points:

  • Highlight: the credits at the beginning of the film were very clever.
  • Highlight: The humour was really my style, closer to British jokes than to the American slapstick.
  • Lowlight: Given recent controversy around young women and relationships with sporting coaches etc I found it uncomfortable that they never broached the issue of Kirsten Dunst’s character’s age. As a player new to the circuit my assumption is that she may only be inmid/late teens, making some aspects of the movie a bit confronting to some (ie. me).
  • Lowlight: Spending most of the film baffled that Oliver Stone had produced it. Isn’t that the guy from The Three Musketeers? No Kristy, that’s Oliver Platt.

Kristy rating: 6/10. You can wait for video release.

Don’t worry Kristy, I’m sure Sony would make an iPod if they could.
