You may or may not have noticed that the site was down for part of yesterday, due to an error that probably meant nothing to most of you. Unfortunately, the Moblog site suffered from a fatal hard disk crash, which further propogated to crashing my site. Just another fix I’ve added to my list!
Unfortunately, errors are a way of programmer’s lives. Sometimes however, it helps to have a sense of humour about these things. For example, I’m using a new version of Visual Studio at work at the moment that is still in pre-release mode. Earlier today it crashed, and the only explaination I was given was:

I can just see myself writing error messages like that in my software. Kudos to the dude at Microsoft that was brave enough to leave it in there!

I didn’t know Moblog had crashed but I saw that my site was struggling a bit and reporting some exceptions about my Moblog control. <br><br>All makes sense now.<br><br>I seem to remember working with someone who although didn’t leave ill informed error messages did not like to make them humourous and witty.

Perhaps the developer who created this message had the benefit of the development environment to debug what it really meant…and once discovered, well no need to expand the message any further!
Good point. It’s always helpful being able to see things from a developer’s point of view.<br><br>I remember in the IRefer code, one of my comments simply said, "Nightmare". Ben rather enjoyed trying to work out what that piece of code did…
