Just when you thought that 1 Kristy was trouble enough, another one lands on your doorstep! (Just kidding, Kristy). Now, for the purpose of this story, I was going to use their initials to distinguish them – but they’re both “KT”… oh, and they’re both left handed – what are the chances! I’ll just stick to surnames – Tailford v Thomas – and leave it as an exercise for the reader to work out which is which.

Anyway, Tailford has come over here for an end-of-year holiday, after having already been to London. So Thomas & Tailford have been cruising round the city whilst some of us were out earning an income – but they saved a few things for me to do with them too. We did the Brooklyn Bridge walk on Friday afternoon, after a morning spent last-minute nightmare shopping at The Food Emporium with the other last-minute loonies. Anyway – the Brooklyn Bridge is very scenic, and makes for a beautiful walk – but the sign on some building said it was 2 degrees (celcius), which sorta took the edge off the scenery.

Post bridge and subway ride back to Manhattan, both Thomas and Tailford decided it was shopping time, so we went and checked out Century 21 – a huge, discount fashion outlet thingy. Their prices are great! I picked up 3 pairs of Nike socks for $6. Oh, and I got some gloves too. We’ll be heading back down there after I get paid, me thinks!

After a chocolate milkshake, we headed home via The Rockefeller Center, and got another glimpse of the biggest Christmas tree in New York. It’s fairly impressive, but hard to photograph well without a tripod. Still, the dude next to us got down on one knee, produced a massive rock from his pocket (like magic!), and proposed to his lady-friend; and she was pretty stoaked. I think she said “yes”. Good for you lady!
