The Playlist Meme

To me, Pat’s Playlist Meme sounds a lot like one of those “get to know you” e-mail things that everyone pretends to hate but secretly loves doing. Well, I for one am a true sucker for those things, so I couldn’t resist doing my own meme. Here are the rules:

 1. Open up the music player on your computer.
 2. Set it to play your entire music collection.
 3. Hit the “shuffle” command.
 4. Tell us the title of the next ten songs that show up (with their musicians), no matter how embarrassing. That’s right, no skipping that Carpenters tune that will totally destroy your hip credibility. It’s time for total musical honesty. Write it up in your blog or journal and link back to at least a couple of the other sites where you saw this.
 5. If you get the same artist twice, you may skip the second (or third, or etc.) occurences. You don’t have to, but since randomness could mean you end up with a list of ten song with five artists, you can if you’d like.

Artist Song Album Notes
Little Birdy Excited Big Big Love One of the best acts out of Australia for a while, IMHO
Silverchair & Vitro Spawn Spawn The Album A killer soundtrack filled with mixes by lots of famous artists.
The Living End What would you do? Modern Artillery
Bad Religion All There Is The Empire Strikes First My brother and I discovered this band after hearing their CD playing in the background before a Blink-182 concert.
Pearl Jam Insignificance Brisbane 9th Feb 2003 – Disc 2 I have more Pearl Jam than any other band, so I was relieved to see them in the first 10 songs.
The Smashing Pumpkins Cupid De Locke Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness
Chicane Overture Behind the sun One of the best albums I own – great motivating background music.
Solar Twins Rock The Casbah Brokedown Palace Soundtrack
John Mayer St. Patrick’s Day Room for Squares I’d love to see this guy play live – he’s freakishly good on guitar.
Runaway The Corrs Forgiven Not Forgotten

Hey Gerrod I’ve put my playlist meme up at burgerBlog. It took a couple of attempts but I think I got it right.
