As we sit here watching the end of Independance Day on Fox, we’re getting ready to farewell another weekend in New York City.
Craig has had some international guests staying with him all week, so on Saturday we joined him, Morris, and Pedro on a walk around town. First we headed down to Ray’s Pizza on 11th and 6th – it’s the original, and the best. A cup of Joe’s was next, then a quick stroll through the West Village to check out the local offerings. We finished up down at Pier 17 – a mall at the Southern tip of Manhattan. There’s great views of Brooklyn and the Brooklyn bridge down there, and they have a lolly shop, too
. Photos of our walk around town are up in the photo albums section.
We met Justin – another friend of Morris and Pedro’s – for dinner at the Wollensky’s Grill, the “little brother” restaurant of the famous Smith and Wollensky Steakhouse. Of course, I couldn’t go past the ribs, but I was somewhat disappointed – they just don’t stack up to Lone Star ribs! Kristy’s steak however was just delicious. We polished the evening off at The Tribe Bar downtown… finally getting to bed around 2am.
Needless to say, it was a slow start to Sunday morning – I was up by 9am, Kristy finally crawled out of bed around 10:15am. Today hasn’t been quite so exciting, with chores and gym being the most eventful things worth mentioning. Still, after such a huge day out yesterday, a day of rest has been just perfect. Back to work tomorrow – as the weather girl is promising “a foot or more” of snow. We’ll see…
