sandwich

Things have been a bit quiet on the blog front lately – though that’s a good reflection of our life this week… quiet. We’ve been going to bed early and getting up late(ish) to try and combat sickness (mainly on my part, that one). But Easter weekend promises to be a good one, with a bonus day off and everything.

Lucky for us, the Easter Bunny sent us a card with $20 inside it to spoil ourselves a hot pastrami on rye sandwich – so Kristy and I trundled down to the only place worthy of spending our cash – Katz Deli. Never heard of it? Think: When Harry Met Sally. They even have a sign on the roof showing where the infamous scene was filmed! But enough about the restaurant, and on to the food… the sandwich was amazing! A full pound of meat between two slightly toasted slices of bread. So juicy! So flavoursome! So… delicious! Kristy and I split a single sandwich to avoid making total pigs of ourselves.

museum

The rest of our day has been pretty relaxing, with Kristy hitting the gym and me doing some bonding with the laptop. Tonight we headed over to the Guggenheim museum, as it was donation night (so we got in for $6ea instead of $15ea). Money well spent! Well, actually that’s a big fat lie – I was tempted to ask for my donation back after being there for less than an hour. There was hardly anything to see! Though the museum is 7 floors high, there is only 2 real galleries of art, which we covered in less than 20 minutes. The rest of the time was spent walking along empty corridors wondering if we’d missed something. Admittedly the architecture of the building is awesome, but that’s about the only saving grace of the museum. Planning a trip to New York? Cross the Guggenheim off your list – your time would be better spent watching the snow melt. Yes, even in summer!

Anyway, tomorrow we’re off to a party – for Craig’s son Zach, who is turning 2. Happy Birthday Zach! And the rest of our weekend is unplanned (besides our quest to find Suzie’s coffee shop)… so stay tuned – who knows what zany things we’ll get up to…. ?
