Well, after two weeks and over 1 million visits, the Gates in Central Park have been dismantled.
Here are some interesting facts about them. The temporary display:
- cost USD$21 million
- included 7,503 gates
- covered 23 miles of pathway
- included 5,290 tons of steel (about two-thirds the amount used to build the Eiffel Tower)
Personally, I’d prefer two-thirds of an Eiffel Tower, but that’s just me.
This massive art display brought all manner of people to Central Park, tourists and locals alike.
You’ve got to wonder though… did this budding photographer’s boss know where he was? Look closely at the badge on his jacket.
