Upper West Side

Tom's Restaurant

The adventures with Ben & Spesh continued today with a trip to the upper west side. We payed a quick visit to the Cathedral of St John the Divine, then it was coffee time at The Hungarian Pastry Shop. Delicious! We then hiked back over to Central Park for some playtime, which worked up our appetites.

Of course, no visit to the upper west side would be complete without sampling the food up there, so we found this quaint little restaurant and went in for some burgers and spaghetti. The restaurant looked kind-of familiar from out the front, but we couldn’t place where we’d seen it before…

We headed home after lunch via central park again and included a trip up through Belvidere Castle. I’m not sure what the history behind it is, but basically it’s this (rather small) castle almost right in the middle of the park. The view from the highest turrets was just awesome – looking out over the enormous park, surrounded by the skyscrapers of Manhattan. Simply amazing.

The rest of our afternoon and evening has been spent relaxing and catching up on our duties. It’ll be nice to get to bed before midnight for a change…

Selected photos from our weekend can be found here.
