I have a confession to make…

I love the Dukes of Hazzard. Back in the 80s, I watched it all the time with my brother, and loved seeing Bo Duke (John Schneider) jump in through the window of the charger. Blonde ol’ Bo was definitely my favourite.

Imagine my surprise to see Bo, all grown up and playing Jonathon Kent on Smallville! He’s one of those people you think have eternal youth, just because that’s how you remember them.

Well compared to his TV brother, Luke (Tom Wopat), Bo is looking pretty darn good. I saw Wopat last night performing some show tunes at Broadway Under the Stars in Bryant Park and he’s gray-haired and grandpa-ish. I hardly recognised him!

Incidentally, the new Dukes of Hazzard flick opens here on August 5 with Seann William Scott as Bo, Johnny Knoxville as Luke and Jessica Simpson as Daisy. Somehow, I just don’t think it will be the same.
