According to various sources, there was supposed to be a street festival on 52nd street (our street!) yesterday. So after gym and chinese, we headed out along 52nd street in search of said festival. All sources said it ran from Lexington to 7th Avenue, from 11 AM – 6 PM.
By the time we got to 5th Avenue (3 blocks past Lexington), we decided that the fair did not exist, or wasn’t on for some reason. Well thanks for telling us – we had been perfectly happy in our airconditioned apartment, instead of walking around in the 30+ degree heat! Oh well. We made our way back to the apartment, via Staples and Food Emporium. When we got back, we decided we’d check out our building’s “common area” that until a few days ago we knew nothing about (no-one had mentioned it until it came up in conversation with Carrie).
So up we rode to the 15th floor, and headed outside. It’s awesome up there! Lots of space, and a great view of various places around the city! Perfect for relaxing with a few brewskies – all they need is a barbeque and some chairs. Still, we were most impressed, and we intend to make use of it now that we know it’s there.

Just a pity that it’s on the west side of the building; if it faced out to the east, it would be a perfect viewing platform for the 4th of July fireworks!

I think it’s a bit of a BYO affair. BYO brewskies AND BYO chairs! Methinks we might head up there tonight for a bit of a chill-out.

It would have been a great place to make snowmen if we’d known about it in Winter too!
Hey that looks awesome. You could have Secret Life of Us type gatherings up there!
I went to the gym just today for about the first time in 3 weeks. Not Good!
Better than nothing Micah; you gotta start/resume somewhere!
