Another movie after work tonight, this time it was Mr and Mrs Smith starring Brad Pitt as Mr Smith and Angelina Jolie as Mrs Smith. The movie is about 2 hitmenpeople who meet in serendipitous circumstances, and end up falling in love. Of course, being in an occupation that mandates all work to be undercover, neither is allowed to reveal their true identities, so after 5 or 6 years their lie-for-a-marriage is starting to show some problems. Things really start going wrong when they’re both assigned (unknowingly of course) to hit the same target. When each one spoils the hit for the other, their identities are revealed and suddenly each one finds themselves assigned to terminate their spouse.
The movie is really quite fun, with each agent creating and diffusing some rather unbelieveable situations. I’m always surprised by the seemingly endless budget that people in these occupations must have, to be able to afford such plush houses, luxurious cars, and of course a practically unlimited supply of arms. Though it’s not terribly difficult to guess the plot or the outcome, both Pitt and Jolie supply some decent acting which makes it very enjoyable viewing. Don’t fret if you miss this one on the big screen, but it would certainly be worth a few of your hard-earneds to pop it off the shelf from your video store (or go for “on-demand” if you’re lucky enough
. And as it’s rated PG-13 (lots of guns/shooting, but no real blood or gore), this is one the whole family should enjoy… well, if your whole family is into that kind of thing. gerrod.com rating: 7/10.
