I recently read a great summer idea that I’ve since put into use. As a substitute for ice cubes that melt over time and water down your drinks, use frozen citrus slices. They cool the drink, add flavour, and never leave your drink watery and tasteless.
Of course, you’re not going to use them in iced coffee but for water, soft drinks and assorted mixed drinks they’re a real winner!
The trick is to freeze them spaced out on an oven tray so they don’t stick together. Then, when frozen transfer them to a glad bag or air tight container. Here’s one I prepared earlier!

Sounds like a good tip. I could see it also being good with limes. Mmm…
great idea I’m doing it for dinner tonight with lemons.
Woohoo! Trust you two to be the biggest supporters!
So far I’ve done lemons, limes and oranges.

And by putting them in tiny snack sized freezer bags, and storing them in the ice bucket you can never forget to use them!
