On Monday night, Gerrod, Carrie and I headed down to the Canal Room to see British newcomer Natasha Bedingfield perform tracks from her newish CD.
We arrived a little late and missed the opening song but thoroughly enjoyed the second. We all had favourites amongst the following three, and were very excited when she launched into the famous track, “These Words (I love you)”. It went off! The crowd loved it.
After that, the sixth song, Natasha and band left the stage, about half the crowd left, and we stood there open-mouthed wondering what was happening. Was it an intermission? Nope, the lights were up. Was another band coming on? Nope, the roadies were disassembling the temporary stage. It was the shortest gig in history.
Determined not to go home at 8pm we headed down to Little Italy and indulged in various desserts and coffees. There are few things that a big chunk of cake can’t fix…
