Today I accompanied Cathy (it was all her idea, honest!) to the Lord and Taylor department store on 5th Avenue to see Sarah Jessica Parker promoting her new perfume: Lovely.
When asked what I thought of the fragrance, my honest though rather dim-witted reply was, “it’s lovely!” Well, it is. The zealous sales staff described it as having white orchid, apple martini, and musk elements. Thankfully, I couldn’t detect the apple martini (ick) component but the musk came through gently, reminding me of those little pink lollies I snacked on as a kid.
I didn’t actually see SJP at all, except as captured here on a camera held over my head. The sweaty throng of cameramen blocked the view entirely and kept yelling, “Sarah! Sarah! Sarah!” hoping she’d look directly down the lens of the camera.
The best part of the experience was being offered lime-flavoured, soft-centred dark chocolates while we waited – yum! The lady promised to return with chocolate dipped strawberries, but alas, she never did.

WOW! You guys must have a brush with fame nearly everyday in New York!
Lucky you didn’t have a brush with the back sweat on the guy in front of you!
Yuk! I didn’t even see that.
