Crazy Weather

Weather in New York has been absolutely crazy for the last week. Before the weekend, temperatures were being described as “unseasonably warm” – and it was! We’re talking like 10 – 15 degrees C.

Kristy and Lucy in Central Park

And then from out of nowhere, it snowed on Saturday night. There was a fresh layer of white all over the ground when we woke up on Sunday! Lucy came over and somehow convinced us to leave our warm apartment to go and check out the snow in Central Park, even though it was freezing outside (about -10 C with wind chill).

Still, the snow didn’t last long, and by Monday it was fairly warm again. This lasted through Tuesday, but then this morning when I walked to work, it was rainy and windy. And when I say windy, I mean there were 50 – 80 km/h winds! There was no way I was getting to work without being soaked.

Apparently tomorrow is supposed to be fine and sunny, but I’ll believe that when I see it.

It definitely has been! Yesterday the wind turned my very sturdy umbrella into a crumpled mess. I don’t know why I even bothered but it was pouring! Then as soon as I got inside, it cleared up and the sun came out. Now today it’s sunny and spring-like. But I’m not complaining ;)

I miss the New York weather! How nice it would be to wake up to snow in Sydney!!!

Don’t you have a trench coat?? Surely that is all people wear in NYC and London with the rain and cold.

Nup, just a ski jacket. People in London are much trendier than the people in New York!
