Yesterday, when I entered the work complex, I noticed an unusually high number of security guards throughout the grounds. Normally when I arrive, I play a little game (admittedly with myself) to see how many straight-faced security guards I can wrangle a greeting out of: The guy on the street, “Good morning!”, the guy at the gate, “Hello!”, the gal at the building entrance, “G’day!” etc. Normally I get at least three out of four but yesterday, they really put on a challenge. I must have passed forty of them!
My first thought was that there had been some sort of threat or emergency but it turns out that we were having a trial evacuation. So down 11 flights of stairs we trotted, and down the street to our meeting place in a public plaza (that’s a park without grass between two high rise buildings).
So there we stood, trying to keep ourselves warm (it was about 3 degrees) and entertained. Luckily, Ginny was there to teach us the Chinese New Year lion dance!
Traditionally, in North Carolina new year celebrations, Ginny has been relegated to the lion’s butt, given that she is closer in height to me than to Gerrod, but yesterday, in her one person, uncostumed, lion show she had the glory of being the head. Yay Ginny!

That lady behind you sure looks entertained, Ginny!
I am impressed the security gaurd at the building entrance gives you a good old Aussie G’day!
Great job with the entry! Err … I mean WELL DONE! Very entertaining photo op of our Ginny.
Haha!

The face/brain was not willing to do it, but the body said, "Let’s go."
