Redbank. It’s not just a suburb of BrisVegas

On Monday night, we took the ferry down to Red Bank, New Jersey to visit Patrick, the other godson of Gerrod’s godmother Rosey. Does that make Patrick Gerrod’s godbrother? Anywho, with Rosey in town, visiting from L.A. it seemed the perfect time to catch up.

Gerrod, Rosey, and Pat

We had the bestest time! It was so nice to sit down to dinner with a whole family: brothers, mothers, aunts, kids, and even cats and dogs! It made us wish that they all lived closer to us so we could catch up more often (they’re about an hour away by ferry and over an hour by train).

You may recall an earlier mention of Patrick from when we first met him last May (thanks for the dedicated reading if you do). We’ve promised not to leave it so long between visits this time, and maybe when the weather is warmer we can enjoy some outdoor family fun and visit their local beach.

Looking back to that story just now, it’s funny to read that we thought Patrick was so nice that “he’d make a perfect Australian”. That’s exactly what we said about the whole family when leaving on Monday night!

Hey Gerrod, wanna add a photo?

G: How’s that butter your toast, wife?

No, not really. It’s Bruce Springsteen’s neighbourhood…
