Last night we had our first (of many, hopefully!) barbeque since coming back to Australia, hosted by Lou and Steve in their new pad at Newstead. We’d almost forgotten how great it is just to sit around on the patio, with the smell of beer marinated onions wafting past the table.
Lou and Steve were very gracious hosts, putting on a massive feast including steak, marinated chicken, sausages, bacon, plus a bunch of salads and breads to round it out. Then to top it all off, Ian made a delicious pavlova covered in fresh fruit, which we all annihilated for dessert.
Just to ensure that the chefs felt appreciated, I forced myself to have a second serving of everything on offer. The things I do to make people happy… !
