Spotting a celebrity seems a lot like spotting an alien -
- Not everyone will see the alien;
- The people that actually see the alien often don’t believe their own eyes, and dismiss it as an illusion; and
- The only piece of documentary evidence that can be produced by those convinced they’ve seen the alien, is a rather shady photograph that really doesn’t prove anything – so all you’re left to go on is their word.
Well, that’s what it was like for us when we saw Colin Farrell shopping at Virgin Megastore on Sunday. Whilst browsing through the CDs, Kristy excitedly ran up to me and say, “celebrity spot – Colin Farrell is here!”. So I followed her down another aisle of CDs, and past a guy who I thought looked suspiciously like the celebrity in question – and sure enough, it was him!
Unfortunately, the best photo I could inconspicuously take of him was this one, whilst following (read “stalking”) him down the escalators. So believe it or not, that actually is him in the middle there, wearing the grey shirt. (The guy in the red shirt is an employee, and the guy behind him I suspect was the bodyguard.

The funniest thing for me was seeing shoppers and staff in his wake, cocking their heads and apparently thinking “was that who I think it was?” or “I’m sure I know that guy from somewhere!”
They were the category 2 alien spotters
