Finally, after almost 2 weeks of solid rain, the sun is shining again in New York. So it only seemed fitting that we head down to Greenwich Village for a wander, and some afternoon tea.
Amongst other things, Greenwich Village has a bunch of great Italian bakeries. We headed straight to Rocco’s though, as we’ve been there before and enjoyed their offerings. I stuck with tradition and ordered myself a slice of lemon meringue pie; Kristy was more adventurous and went for the chocolate raspberry mudcake. Both desserts were delicious – but to be honest, we weren’t blown away! I think the health food kick that we’ve recently been on has really taken effect; high sugar foods just don’t have the same appeal that they used to. Curse you, healthy living!
Anyway, we lazed away the afternoon wondering around the village, perusing much and buying little. After being stuck inside due to rain for so long, it was nice just to be out in the fresh air.
