What’s a girl to do when she finds her self flying solo in NYC?
After chilling out on Friday night with a grilled cheese sandwich, a glass of wine and that wonderful invention, cable TV, I decided that a little more adventure was required. How else would I find something to blog about?
So Saturday I did a few my favourite things: slept in, cooked, and visited The Container Store, and a few not so fun, but necessary, chores (gym, dry cleaning, washing). Finally, in the evening I met up with Claire for a scrumptious dinner at the Uva Wine Bar on 77th. The Polenta Tartufata (fresh polenta filled with robiola cheese in a black truffle sauce) was to die for!
On Sunday, Lisa and I ventured up to Washington Heights to visit The Cloisters, an outpost of the Met Museum dedicated to medieval art and architecture dating back as far as 800 AD, but focusing on the 12th-15th centuries. It was spectacular! Unlike the Met, which is overwhelmingly comprehensive, you can take in the Cloisters in just a few hours. It left me wanting to live in house modelled on a monastery – it was just so peaceful!
Sadly, Monday night was not so exciting, working back in the office (fortunately overtime is paid), then grabbing a bite before gratefully falling into bed.

You can get inflatable hangers?! The Container Store sounds and looks like it right up my alley! Full of things I never knew I needed until I just saw them and thought of a way to use them!
Yeah, it’s mighty dangerous shopping there alone!
