An overview of the city

Every time we get visitors, we try to come up with new things to do with them, partially to give them a unique experience, and partially so that we don’t get bored seeing the same things! (We’re such whingers…). So Kristy came up with a corker of an idea for something to do with Ben – take a helicopter tour of the city! So off we trollied down to Helicopter Flight Services at the South Street Seaport to jump on our ride.

South East Manhattan

The tour took about 20 minutes, and we saw almost all the sights in the city – Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Intrepid Air & Space Museum, Central Park, Empire State Building, Yankee Stadium, etc etc. – it was all there, and it was fantastic! And as for the actual helicopter – well, that’s the first time I’ve been in one, and hopefully it won’t be the last. It was wicked cool – especially when it took the super tight turns.

Though a helicopter ride rings in at the higher end of the price scale, it certainly provided the best view of the city that I’ve seen so far. Highly recommended!

How cool are helicopters. My first flight was only a few weeks ago in Cairns and it was awesome – especially the turns as you say!

That’s pretty cool. 20 minutes is probably a good amount of time as well.
