With Louisa’s birthday looming on Sunday, we thought it would only be appropriate to head out on Saturday night and see it in. For some reason though, we didn’t end up leaving the house until 10:30PM, which meant we got to our first bar at around 11PM.
Starting out that late, it really didn’t take long to reach midnight, at which point we all exploded with a verse of “Happy Birthday to you” at the top of our lungs. No-one else joined in! Soon as that was over I took this picture of Lou – you can literally see her turning 27, don’t you think?
On the way home I mentioned to Steve that the pub across the road (from the one we were at) serves Hoegaarden on tap. Well, Steve said his night wouldn’t be complete without a pint of Hoey, so over we headed; only to be disappointed to find out they don’t have it on tap anymore!
The only way to console Steve was to head to another bar for another beer… which turned into two, then three, then a few more over a game of pool…
By the time we got home, it was after 3AM; by the time we finished our pizza and headed to bed, it was 5AM. 5AM! That’s the latest night we’ve had since being in the city – at least that I can recall… ! Lou and Steve are definitely a bad influence!

5am. way to go guys!
now the pressure is on for Ben and I to match that effort with Team Dahl in London!
Stick in NYC long enough and it becomes the norm. I somehow manage to find myself out until 5 many times a month!
Happy Birthday Louisa. Sounds like a great night!
