What? Saturday already?

I can’t believe that it’s already Saturday. Time just seems to be escaping us at the moment. I guess it’s true what they say, that “time flies when you’re having fun”!

After our busy day on Wednesday, we met up with Damien and Lisa for dinner at Blue Smoke. That’s at least the 3rd time we’ve eaten at Blue Smoke, and their fantastic ribs never disappoint. Damien showed us all up by actually finishing his massive serving, earning him the right to label Bender and (especially) me as “soft”.

Thursday was unfortunately the day I had to head back to work, but with only 2 working days until the weekend, I think I timed things perfectly. And by the time I did the post-holiday meet and greet, then processed all the e-mails that I received in my absence, the day went by quickly anyway.

I had told Bender that we had a surprise for him on Thursday night, and he was rather pleased when he found out we were going to the Muse concert. That’s the second time that I’ve seen Muse play live, and just like the first concert, their performance defies words. Muse are amazing, tight muscians, and seeing them play live is a treat for all the senses. Well, except for smell, since everyone was pretty hot and sweaty. Oh, and there’s nothing really for taste either, since drinks are so expensive. Or touch, come to think of it. Ok, it’s a treat for your eyes and ears! gerrod.com rating: 10/10.

Somehow I managed to stumble through Friday, though I was tired from a big week, and already worn out from work (it doesn’t take much). After spending 4 hours reformatting some horrible HTML, I was ready to come home and crash – so that’s precisely what I did. We spent the night in, veging in front of a movie and eating pizza. Though we weren’t living the high life like we’d done for the rest of the week, it was the perfect way to see in the weekend.

There is now a Blue Smoke restaurant in Brisbane at New Farm. I wonder if it’s the same as the New York one? Jason and I ate there a few weeks ago when they had only just opened.
