The Pier at Atlantic City

There was one place in Atlantic City that we thought was rather impressive – The Pier, which connects to the Caesar’s Palace casino. Basically, The Pier is a three story… well, pier (funny that)… containing a number of classy looking shops and restaurants. The thing that caught “our” (read: Kristy’s) eye as we walked past was the It’sugar candy store. Make your own candy bar? A giant elephant made from over 1 million jelly beans? Sign us up!

Elephant!

Not long after browsing through a number of other stores, we discovered “The Show” – a giant fountain which shoots water jets in time to music, every hour, on the hour. It was better than being at The Bellagio!* What’s more, the lighting conditions made for some impressive looking photos.

But the most impressive place of all? I never thought I’d say this, but – Starbucks! Yes, the coffee was typical, overpriced Starbucks Coffee. But, their couches were very comfy, and the view is just amazing! They’re positioned on the top floor of the pier, and right on the edge, looking straight down the beach.

Unfortunately a photo doesn’t do it justice, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. The $3.30 for a latte was worth it!

Nice try – that fountain has nothing on the Bellagio. How can you compete with water shooting 75 metres into the air from an 8.5 acre lake holding 20 million gallons of water. 4,792 lights illuminate the fountain at night.

I would be interested in a re-review after you visit Vegas!

good thing you put that disclaimer in….

that fountain looks like a kiddie version compared to the Bellagio :)

I see your points, but it’s hard to capture in a single picture! Don’t worry, a secondary review will be made post Bellagio viewing :-)

Looks to me like K found the best place to stop. The candy shop, of course.
