Happy Birthday, Wifey!

Today is Wifey’s 26th Birthday! As it turns out, it was actually a public holiday in New South Wales – just so the state could celebrate Kristy’s birthday! Maybe we really should move to Sydney when we get back to Australia, since Queensland is yet to declare Kristy’s birthday as a public holiday…

Anyway, we couldn’t let those pesky New South Welshmen get the day off without having one ourselves, so wife and I played hooky (well, our leave was pre-arranged so it doesn’t really count) and spent the day strolling round the city with Kristy’s parents. What an adventure we’ve had! We:

  • Kicked the day off with breakfast at Heartbeat – a local joint which serves healthy versions of some of our favourite breakfast foods. Eggs Benedict and Blueberry Pancakes were the choice of the day!
  • Went for a ride on the ferris wheel inside Toys’R'Us, Times Square
  • Saw a really awesome movie – Little Miss Sunshine – at 42nd Street (gerrod.com rating: 9/10)
  • Ate dinner at one of Kristy’s favourite Italian restaurants in the East Village

Now, after a few rounds of Boggle (who’d have thought that MISFLUSH wasn’t a word?! That would have scored me 11 points!), we’re all very exhausted and ready for bed!

On another note, I also videoed a lot of the day – Stickfly.com style – so I’ll put up a short movie of our adventures when I have it all sussed out. Stay tuned, folks!
