After goodness-knows-how-long of having them on our blogroll, and many missed opportunities to meet in the past, we finally met Cam and Meghan on Friday night. It was kind-of weird – despite being purely “blogging buddies” for the past year, we felt like we knew them pretty well. And – not surprisingly – they both turned out to be very cool
.
We met at Bondi Road Fish and Chips, a little but buzzing fish and chip shop, owned by the same bloke who runs The Sunburnt Cow, a semi-regular brunch hangout of ours. The walls are covered with a 360-view of Bondi, and most of the staff hail from Sydney! They served bottles of Boags for only $6, and lemmie tell ya it was fantastic to taste a decent Aussie beer (say NO to Fosters!).
Anyway, the excellent company, the excellent beer, and of course the free shots helped keep us entertained while we waited for a table. When we finally did get to sit, we kicked off our meals with a round of oysters (yuuuummmm!!!), and then everyone ended up choosing the same thing – fish (beer battered barra, or crumbed in Kristy’s case) and chips! Absolutely delicious – just like they taste back home!
It was a really excellent night, and we hope that we can catch up with Cam and Meghan again soon. Somewhat difficult for Cam though, given that he’s jetting his way back to Australia now (thanks again for meeting up with us on your last night – hope you had a decent flight!), but I’m sure we’ll hook up again in the future, maybe at the real Bondi next time!

Scary… it’s me! Cam & I are both picture-phobic, so it’s a rare shot
Thanks for meeting up, we had a lot of fun. We’ll definitely have to do it again next time he’s back.
Cam survived his trip home and managed to successfully haul two suitcases of my stuff back with him through customs. Yay!
Wow! What a good looking bunch
Pity we didn’t get a pick with Jason too
Thanks for a great night, I can’t wait until we can do it again – Unfortunately I didn’t pick a winner in the Melbourne Cup so I might have to save up for my next ticket!!
