Happy Thanksgiving!

Today was Thanksgiving in the States, and just like last year, it was a miserable, cold, windy, rainy day. Though we offered to go and see the Macy’s Day Parade with Jo, she took one look at the weather and said, “it looks wet and cold out there!”. We watched the parade from the warmth of our couch instead – a wise choice me thinks!

We were very untraditional today – not that we regularly do follow American traditions though. I was looking forward to enjoying some turducken for our Thanksgiving meal, but when we found out how much it was (somewhere around $90), we skimped out and went for crumbed pork tenderloin and roast veggies instead. Yum!

But we couldn’t let the day escape without eating one traditional American food item, so for dessert, it was Pumpkin Pie from Buttercup.

Pumpkin Pie

Delicious! And in the interests of eating it while it’s fresh, I think I’ll go grab another slice now…

Pecan pie, eh? Not sure I’d be game to try that one, but hey, you only live once…

Jason – try hitting Apple+R (or Ctrl+F5 on windows), it’s probably just a caching issue.

I’d like to know what pumpkin pie tastes like! I thought it would look more orange.
