Glove down!

The other day whilst walking through Grand Central, we saw a lady drop her glove, without noticing. My instant reaction was that I was kind-of shocked – all the time you see a single glove on the ground and you always wonder how it actually got there to begin with. Well, now we knew!

Still, I know that I’d hate having one glove without it’s partner, so I dutifully informed the lady that her glove was down, and she was very appreciative. She turned to one of the girls walking with her and asked her to fetch it (her hands were full of shopping bags, probably why she dropped the glove in the first place). And you know what? In the time it took for the girl to walk over to the glove (maybe 10m away), some other dude picked it up and started walking off with it! I couldn’t believe it!

It was even funnier when the girl on her way to fetching the glove – who was clearly unimpressed with the appearance of the guy that picked it up (we presume he was homeless) – started muttering stuff under her breath like, “Damn, I don’t wanna touch it now, that festy thing, ewwwww!” etc etc.

We left without seeing the outcome. Still, either way, I think that glove was successfully saved from ending up on Gloves reunited.
