Who said Macs were infallible?
Today, whilst I was diligently helping wife with the Christmas cards (I was Mr Address, she was Mrs Content), the Address Book froze. (iChat froze at the same time, so I guess one caused the other, but I don’t know which one went first.) Anyway, I fired up Activity Monitor (like the Task Manager on a PC) to kill the processes, since nothing was going on, then I restarted the Address Book.
Boy was I pleased when I found that all of my contacts had been deleted! Yes, all of them! In this photo I have tried to capture the joy that I was feeling as I looked at my now empty address book. Talk about stoked!
Luckily, I had a backup file, but unfortunately it’s quite old. So why should you care? Well, you probably don’t; the world is such an uncaring place these days – but if you’re concerned that you may not get a Christmas card because I may have lost your address, then please pass it on to me again. If you think you’re safe, but you don’t get a Christmas card – well, don’t hold it against me.
Consider yourself warned!

Nice story but no excuse. You can still send me one :/
I just had to put my black mac in for repair. 10 days without my little baby! What am I going to do?
I’ll be sending in my “Microsoft” xbox too, after their latest update bricked my machine.
Computers just suck really. But I still love em.
Ugh! That bites.
My macbook killed a drive the other day – less than 2 months old. Lead time was one month, so I shelled out my hard earned for a replacement (from a computer shop) and told Apple to mail me the disk!!
You should have a look at Synk for backups…
I don’t care to much about getting a Christmas card G. All I want is for you and Kristy to have an awesome and safe one.
