As you may or may not already know, our dear friends Ben and Michelle – collaboratively, Team BaM – will very soon be departing the shores of the UK, never to return again (despite our pleas for them to stay!). To commiserate, we joined up with them and about 60 of their friends (plus a few hundred drunken poms watching the England vs France game) at The Barley Mow for an ale or two on Saturday night.
It was, of course, a very sad occasion; having my best friends living so close to me in a foreign country has to be one of the greatest experiences of my life; and having shared so many amazing holidays with them over the last few years just puts the icing on the cake.
BaM fly out on Thursday night, starting a six week vacation before finally touching down in sunny (and from what I hear, ridiculously hot) Brisbane. They take with them all our hopes and dreams for a wonderful life back home in Australia.

There is a solution…. you could move to Brisbane as well. It’s a great international destination! It would almost be the same as your current situation, except you would get to see the sun on a daily basis!
We’re not really leaving… just an excuse to have a party and take a few months off work
