Out and about

Now that the days are nice and long (sun is up before 6 AM and is setting around 9 PM!), going out after work is common-place. It’s so cool that it’s still quite bright and sunny by the time you’ve finished dinner!

Wednesday night saw us catching up with Leanne and Dean for dinner and drinks at Embankment. We hadn’t seen them for absolutely ages! It was great to swap stories about our travels – they’ve given us some great tips for travelling in Turkey (which was always on the list), and Lapland (which I’d never even heard of!).

Since they live out in Greenwich and we’re in Chiswick, we “raced” home to see who was closer (via public transport, anyway). Turns out that it’s pretty much exactly in the middle of the two – Leanne’s text to say they’d arrived home came literally seconds after we had walked in the door!

Last night I went out with some of the work folks to The Volt Lounge, which is just around the corner from our work. One of the guys in our team is leaving, so it was Thursday night farewell drinks (even though his last day is today – yes I still find that strange). Naturally, one beer quickly turned in to five, which meant I was quite exhausted (and very hungry!) by the time I got home.

And of course, now it’s Friday morning, and motivation to go to work is running quite low. Only one more day I guess!

I see by the heraldry shown on Lapland link that they heve fixed ideas on courtship.

It is fun to pick berries in Lapland.
