The Impossible

Since the weather was so lovely today, and to celebrate the fact that Kristy can once again eat medium rare steak (since she’s no longer pregnant), we decided to have a steak sandwich for lunch. Well, that was the plan; what I ended up creating was a little something that I like to call, The Impossible.

The Impossible

What you’re looking at there is a 200g Porterhouse steak, with barbecued mushrooms and onions (kindly pre-cut by sister Susan), avocado, tomato, cos lettuce, mayonnaise, and hot chili sauce, packed between two pieces of multigrain bread. And yes, it was good.

So why is it called The Impossible, you ask? Well:

  • It’s impossible to fit into your mouth in one go;
  • It’s impossible not to get it all over your face while consuming it;
  • It’s impossible for the sandwich to stay together once you’re half way through it; but
  • It’s impossible not to love it. Unless you’re a vegetarian, I guess.

As it turns out, it’s also impossible to serve lunch without Oscar deciding that he wants lunch too, but I didn’t factor that into the name.
