Hanging party

Last weekend we had a hanging party at our place, which despite the rather sobering sounding name is actually a good thing! Mom and Dad came around, and together we hung up some of the photos and and artworks that we’d been collecting over the years, to brighten up the walls a bit!

Wall art

I realised after taking this photo that it was actually a really terrible shot, because (a) there’s heaps of glare coming in from the window behind me, and (b) I really should have made more of an effort to clean the buffet. But overall, you’d honestly be shocked at how little I care. Seriously!

Anyway – this is the family wall. The only images that have been put into place for real are the wedding photo (in the middle), and the one of me with Mom and Dad (top left). The one of Jason and Susan (bottom right) is getting printed properly (just waiting for it to arrive in the mail), and the right-hand part of the wall is waiting on prints from the Harveys. Oh, that reminds me – M&M, please send us a the photo of you and your three most precious which you would like to see hanging on our wall!

The pride of our collection is the canvas printed photo at the top of the stairs. It’s an original from one of our absolute favourite photographers.

Becky's print

We had told Nick and Suzie that we would love to have a “Becky Zeeb” in our house when we moved home, and they surprised (and obliged!) us by arranging for one to be waiting here for us when we arrived in Australia. It was such a thoughtful gift, and we love it – I’m glad that we’ve finally got it on display for the world (or at least, our visitors) to see!

Are you and your brother have a picture-hanging contest? Ha ha!

Looks very nice though. And I love the iron!
