Fish and Chips at Scarborough

Making the most of the break in the weather yesterday – and needing a break from house/yard work, we headed out to Scarborough for fish and chips with Kristy’s folks (“Mia and Pa” to Oscar). It was a glorious day! Plenty of sunshine and blue sky, and the perfect level of warm, without baking us in our skins.

We haven’t had fish and chips out that way for a while, and so we relied on the old faithful Red Dolphin. They somehow managed to get our order completely wrong – instead of skinny chips, we got fat chips; instead of grilled cod, Kristy’s Dad got grilled whiting (or some equally small fish); and don’t even get me started on the lack of chicken salt. But there was no way we were going back only to wait for everything to be cooked again! Thankfully, whatever we ended up with was still quite tasty (though I was still bitter about the lack of chicken salt!).

To top it all off, our timing was absolutely perfect, as on our way back home we drove right into a storm! Glad we were off the foreshore before that one hit!

If you’re over that way again try Seafood Lovers Cafe. It just up the road from Red Dolphin. We love the food there!!

A lovely little fellow is Oscar. I think he can win hearts very easily. Thanks for sharing. Wish I could pop right over to meet him personally.
