One of the best things about having kids is watching them developing their own personalities, likes and dislikes – especially when their “likes” are so similar to yours! Take for example, Oscar in his absolute favourite outfit here – an awesome surprise present from Nick and Suzie:
Yep, he’s a Pearl Jam fan too! And what makes this outfit even better is that Lea and Dean gave him the same one in the next size up – so he’ll be able to wear it all year! Score!
Lately, we’ve been playing the “what do you want to be when you grow up?” game with Oscar, shooting professions at him (“Doctor? Pilot? Household waste relocation specialist?”) then waiting to see which one he responds to. Progress has been slow – he seems intent to just listen to the profession names; but then he surprised us last night by showing us where his interests lie:
At first I was convinced he’d be a software engineer like Dad and Grandad Thomas, until Kristy pointed out that he’s using a Mac and not a Windows machine, so it’s more likely he’ll be a graphic artist. Still – I’d be happy with that!

Love it
Awww. He is so gorgeous. Perhaps he’ll surprise you. In fact, I’m sure he’ll surprise you, with his chosen “profession.”
So cute! Love that little smile
the computer shot is priceless!
I’d like to point out that in this shot he’s making a list… Like his mumma. I say professional organizer of some sort.
Are you sure he’s not illegally downloading bootleg Pearl Jam tracks?
Maybe an event organiser like his Uncle and Aunty???
Nah, not a graphic designer still a coder – Macs run a Unix based OS surely that’s the only reason anyone uses them right? Also Donald Kunth uses a mac (or seems to be in this video here http://scpd.stanford.edu/search/publicCourseSearchDetails.do?method=load&courseId=8632047)
List of something along the lines of ‘things I must tell mum and dad when I can speak…’. I will be conviced its your genes Kristy when he asks for stationary and a filing system for his lists as a present
Very cute laptop pic
cute!
That is SO CUTE! And he looks terribly clever.
(I should warn you, it is also possible he’s a much later, much more advanced part of this little operation:

but at least with a Mac, he can do it in style…)
