Yes, it’s true, I wouldn’t normally be lining up for the Brisbane Truck Show, even though every guy secretly wants to take one for a hot lap around the block (Jason would have tried too, had he have been given the keys).
However, having a connection with a certain high-ranking star in the trucking industry means you score yourself a VIP ticket to attend, and I’d go along to pretty much anything if I was entering as a VIP.
Truthfully, Dad, Jason and I were there to pay tribute to months of Susan’s hard work, organising the entire floor space for Volvo Trucks. It was very impressive – they even had a simulator there to show you how a truck cabin reacts in a rollover, and why you should always wear a seatbelt!
Kids: wear your seatbelt!
Actually, it was pretty interesting to sit inside a cabin, and see how similar it was to a car – only about ten times more expensive. And I’m pleased to report, even trucks come with new car smell! Mmmm… new car fresh.
Nice job, Susan!

Ahh brings back memories of my truck show days
Thanks G! And thanks again for visiting! Our photographer has uploaded a pretty cool 3 minute clip on YouTube – if you look closely, you’ll see yourself in it at about 14/15 secs and again around 30 secs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcEwnh34RR8&feature=related
