Last week felt like it was a long week, and in part I blame that on the weather. Though I have been thoroughly enjoying the sunshine in the days, it’s hard to do anything at night when you come home and the house is freezing cold. All I want to do is sit on the couch, eat loads of carbs and watch TV! And so, the weekend seemed like it was a long time coming, but we were very happy to have a fairly clear schedule!
On Friday night, we hit up quiz night, hosted by Quizmaster Mel. An excellent quiz for all the senses, narrowly taken out by none other than Mr Priebe! I’m looking forward to seeing what Ben pulls out for the next quiz night; hopefully there’ll be a lot of Pearl Jam related questions so I have some chance of winning!
Saturday we had nothing planned, so we ran a few chores in the morning, then pitched in to help a friend move house. The highlight of the day though was a rare trip to the movies for Ben and I (and Ian as well; but he goes pretty much every night, based on the number of movies that he’s seen). We saw X-Men: First Class, and whilst I didn’t enjoy it as much as I have the other X-Men films, it was what it was, and I felt entertained. gerrod.com rating: 7.5/10.
Again, we had nothing planned for Sunday, so we rocked up to Mom and Dad’s house to walk the dogs, and give Oscar a break from his parents (read: “free babysitting”). Oscar was too excited to nap at his Nonni and Poppi’s house though, so we took him for a drive to Woody Point and grabbed an ice-cream from the very Australian looking General Store.
We also dropped in on the Durhams, and whiled away the afternoon sitting on their delightful back deck, enjoying the company, a slice of the world’s biggest rainbow cake, and what remained of a glorious weekend of sunshine. It was the perfect way to wrap up the weekend, and I’m already looking forward to the next one!
