By far, the highlight of our long weekend was bowling with The Dahls on Saturday. It was Oscar’s first time! The bowling ally at Chermside is one of those ones that goes for the dimly lit hypercolour feel, so I was a little concerned that Oscar may be overwhelmed by all the lights and sounds; but he was fine! In fact, I think he really liked it!

He did quite well for his first game too, racking up just over 100 pins over the 10 frames, and convincingly beating his Mummy while he was at it! Bowling is actually a great game for the little ‘uns – they really get into knocking things over (who doesn’t?!), and it teaches them about taking it in turns. I suspect we’ll be going again!

Unfortunately, the rest of our weekend has – on balance – been a bit meh. All this rain and wind doesn’t help – though it did mean we didn’t feel guilty for spending the whole of Sunday cleaning the house. Boy did it need it! And, we were rewarded for our efforts with a visit from Durhams on Sunday evening.

Poor Kristy was up all Sunday night with stomach problems though, which meant she spent most of Monday in bed, feeling weak, feverish (38.8!), and generally miserable. We’re all hoping that she’s just caught some 24 hour super stomach bug, and that all will be clear by tomorrow. Fingers crossed! Its about time we had a break, health wise!
