Stepowski Sunday morning

We met up with Joe, Shamine and Harry this morning to take a short walk along the Kedron Brook path. Our main aim was to introduce the boys to cows – yes, really – so we parked at Spotlight, walked through the opposing field to the path, then headed along in the direction of Brookside.

Walking through the grass

Watching Oscar and Harry navigate the long grass was pretty funny – their little legs weren’t quite long enough to wade through! Consequently, there were many moments like this:

Oscar fallen in the grass

Eventually we got to the paddock though, and showed the cows to the boys. I have to say that the cows really let us down on this one, showing absolutely no interest in coming over to the fence to introduce themselves. So, we had to content ourselves with watching from afar.

Checking out the cows

We walked a bit further and found a nice spot in the sun for a picnic morning tea, and the boys had a great time running up and down the hill, screaming at the top of their lungs. I felt sorry for whoever’s house it was that we were sitting near, especially if they thought it was a nice morning for a lie-in.

Running on the hill

All that playtime meant Oscar was completely destroyed by the time we got back to the car. Hopefully that means he’ll have a nice, long nap for once!

Update: Nope – just over an hour.

  1. Hey Gerrod. Harry was just about asleep when we drove up the driveway. I quickly transferred him to his bed and he was out like a light:) Can you send us that pic of the boys?

One day when the cows were by the fence Ben and I told them cow jokes, but they didn’t look impressed.
