It’s Christmas Time in the City

Before the concert on Saturday, we all headed in to the city to check out how things were faring on the Christmas front. Kristy had heard rumours of a “Santa train” at the Myer Centre which took kids (and only kids, sadly) on a little trip around Santa’s workshop. Sure enough, it was right there in Level 4 of Myer itself. Best of all, its free! Of course, the Christmas elves would prefer it if you helped fund them by purchasing one of their photos of your child sitting on the train, but at $16 a pop, we told those Elves where to go! (Back to the north pole, of course).

Myer also has a few animated window displays which are pretty cool – Oscar certainly found them entertaining, at least.

Finally, we headed in to King George square to see the giant Christmas tree. It’s giant! Once again, Oscar was suitably impressed!

Of course, I can’t help but think that a tree that big looks out of place without some snow on top, but me thinks that’s a bit optimistic in Brisbane!
